Bhagubhai Devani, an RTI Activist and an advocate by profession, attacked by three unidentified men with a sharp edged weapon in Porbandar district of Gujarat, police said.
He was attacked by the unidentified trio with a knife near his residence in Rajiv Nagar area, they said.
Devani has been fighting against illegal mining and construction and also filed a written petition in Gujarat High Court in this regard, police said, adding that the attack was believed to be fall out of his protest.

Devani has been admitted to a private hospital and a manhunt has been launched to nab the absconding culprits, police said.

Porbandar is celebrating Navy Week,

the Indian Navy today threw open three state-of-the-art Naval ships: Betwa, Vidyut and Tabar at all-weather port in Porbandar for general public.

Naval ships are open for general public between 10 am to 5 pm today. ‘A day at sea’ event has been organized for invited guests off Porbandar coast on 2 December.

Navy’s rescue exercises will be showcased in the evening at Porbandar chowpatty.

Navy band will present its live performance on this occasion.

The range of events are being organized to celebrate Navy week.

Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (PSMA) captured 72 Indian fishermen and seized their 13 boats.

The fishing boats, all from Porbandar, were in the international waters near Sir Creek, the disputed coastal strip off Gujarat coast, when they were seized, he said.

“This is third time in a week that PSMA has captured Indian fishermen and their boats,” he said.

Earlier, Pakistan used to release Indian fishermen, has stopped doing so after the November 26 Mumbai terror attacks.
